Health Insurance/Care Overhaul, Pt.1 – Commonwealth
Recommendations.
Following up on the previous article ‘Sweeping
Demands on Health Care’, the Commonwealth
Fund has offered a list of recommendations to resolve the
current health insurance/care crises that is disturbing so
many Americans, as many as 90% of them. Their most recent
report is entitled ‘Organizing The U.S. Health Care Delivery
System For High Performance’ and offers strategic solutions
toward “higher quality and better efficiency,” as per the
Science Daily News article. First, some further input from
Julie Steenhuysen, who has posted an article for Reuters on
their www.reuters.com/ website might further underscore the
pressing need for serious health insurance/car reform. In her
article, Julie also confers that over 80% of our citizens are
demanding a complete overhaul to our ailing health
insurance/care system or, at least, fundamental foundational
changes. Based on the same survey, she expounds that people
are requiring more easy access to health care. They also need
greater coordination and cooperation among medical providers
as well as better information flow of medical records and
patient history.
All these complaints are in the wake of other negative
findings concerning the unreasonable health insurance/care rate
hikes that Americans have been suffering. There are many
sources who have independently provided proof, among them was a
Harris Interactive poll showing that health insurance premiums
have doubled in cost just since 1996, whereas income increases
have been miniscule, by comparison. The summation of it all
comes from the noted expert Karen Davis, who explains "It's
clear that our health care system isn't giving Americans the
health care they need and deserve.” Karen is the president of
the Commonwealth Fund, a nonprofit New York-based group who
have been tracking the health insurance/care crises for a long
time now. It was the Commonwealth Fund who commissioned this
recent survey.
