Obama’s Health Plan Sacked, Pt.6 – Candidates, listen to
us!
Previous…
The fact is, far too little is being addressed in the
presidential debate forum concerning health insurance/care
reform than is warranted. Not sure why, since this topic
remains as the most striking contrast between the two parties
and, more importantly, because it’s so vitally important to so
many. Although the McCain camp seems to have downgraded health
insurance/care reform to be a minor issue based of their
priority polls, it seems a little peculiar that 90% (+ or – 3%)
of the adults in America believe health insurance/care reform
needs to be a top agenda for our next president. These findings
resulted from a recent and very comprehensive survey conducted
by Harris Interactive, Inc. while being sponsored and analyzed
by the Commonwealth Fund.
According to the survey, 82% of America believes that our
current health insurance/care system is so bad, it needs a
complete overhaul. In the small minority, only 16% of the
responding adults felt that our present health insurance/care
system was relatively ok and only required ‘minor reform’. So
how can we ascribe to comments that undermine serious and
aggressive changes. How can the McCain camp relegate this
crises in their polls as being ‘minor? Perhaps this is because
Mr. McCain’s poll only reflects opinions of the largest
contributors…don’t know. In any case, it will truly be a sad
day if we ever get stuck with four more years of this. (For
more on that study, please refer to the article series’
entitled “The
Proactive Health Care Approach“, “Health
Insurance/Care Overhaul “ and “Sweeping
Demands on Health Care”.).
