Mini-Biz Health-Care Wishes and Woes, Pt.5 – What’s the
best proposed solution?
Previous…
In response to the political scene, the respondents were
asked what they thought should be the preferred health
insurance/care system for our country, in it’s quest for the
best reform. Concerning the health insurance/care options
currently being proposed by our presidential nominees, “there
was no clear consensus,” responded Ms. Darien, executive
director of NASE, the group who conducted the study. There
were, however, two parallel veins having some commonality and
some divergence. The third preference was to basically, keep
the health insurance/care system that we already have. The
breakdown was:
- 25% Chose a universal health-care system, run by
the government, where every American would be mandated to pay
for some type of coverage.
- 24.5% Chose a universal health-care system
completely paid for by taxes.
- 22.9% Chose to keep the current health-care system
we already have.
- 30% Either responded that they didn’t know or that
they didn’t like any of the choices given ("none of the
above.") This is the largest group, but also the most
scattered.
Notice how close these first three percentages are. When
considering margin for error and other things, Ms. Darien
regards this as, pretty-much, a three-way tie. But, when
considering the commonality between the first two, this could
favor a 49.5% response for some type of a ‘universal
health-care system’. This would be a significant portion. The
large disparate percentage of the last group doesn’t offer much
cohesiveness toward a forward plan, but does indicate some
dissatisfaction to the health insurance/care solutions being
offered so far.
