The Health Care Heat is On, Pt.4 – If Obama wins…

These meetings are all centered around health insurance/care
reform. The objective is to be poised and ready to move “in the
opening days of the next president's administration,” according
to the article. To meet that goal, they need to formulate the
outline of a viable insurance/care reform proposal by that
time. One of the leaders of this organization named Richard
Kirsch declares "We want to create a mandate." Many of these
were members of the liberal groups that banded together to
defeat Bush’s dismantling of the Social Security program in
2005. Together, they are working tirelessly to finally resolve
this present health insurance/care crisis our country is in.
With the full support of Mr. Obama, there are already a host
of highly respected participants working it all out. Obama has
pledged to see this thing through and make health
insurance/care reform central in his first-term agenda, along
with two other major crises our nation is caught up in. He has
already added to his noteworthy team of specialist advisors,
Elizabeth Edwards of course, former Clinton White House aide
Sarah Bianchi and Hillary’s policy director from the primaries
Neera Tanden. Neera’s title is domestic policy adviser. Both
Mrs. Edwards and Ms. Bianchi are working along with other
experts engaged in health insurance/care campaign conference
calls.
Mrs. Edwards is stoked. In an interview concerning the new
administration’s priorities, she advised, "It's important for
this to be one of the first things that's considered." She’s
pushing to have health insurance/care reform on next year’s
agenda.
