Critical Choices: McCain vs. Obama, Pt.1 – Health
insurance crises.
Most people would readily agree that our nation desperately
needs health insurance reform. So, the big question is ‘How?’
Latest findings have revealed that 25 million people who were
not targeted as a problem group are found to have big
problems. These are people who do already have health
insurance, but their insurance is inadequate. Even with their
health insurance, they are mired is debt and going bankrupt.
They are so financially strapped that they are going without
medical care, even though they have insurance. One might think
this is because they’re so poor, but these recent findings are
revealing that the hardest hit are those who are above the
federal poverty line. Now, more then any recent presidential
election, health insurance reform promises to be a leading
agenda. The eMaxHealth.com website has just posted an article
articulating the vastly different approaches being taken by
the two presumptive presidential nominees, McCain and Obama.
Though very different, both plans are aggressive and claim
to be able to handle the daunting task ahead. Since the
approaches are so different and the issues so important, the
time is to become knowledgeable on the upcoming health
insurance/care choices that will shape the future. For a more
comprehensive understanding, it should help to explain some of
the historic underpinnings that have brought us to where we are
now. To better understand the vast differences in the proposed
health insurance/care agendas, one good place to start would be
our pension system, where we can visualize the big picture.
