Obama Health Insurance Insight, Pt.2 – Where are we going
next?
Previous…
Here is where Obama focuses his health insurance/care
resolve. He laments how candidates keep promising, year in and
year out for one election after the other to, cut costs and
solve health insurance/care problems. Then, as soon as they get
to Washington, there is no change. Lobbyists “come to the
rescue”, large donations come in from the large enterprises,
like drug and insurance companies and then block the changes.
Then, come next election, the numbers of those without health
insurance keep rising and those who are already struggling with
large medical bills are in even worse shape.
Mr. Obama advises all those listening that they already know
what has to be done to fix the health insurance/care turmoil.
Things must really change. He goes on to add that he has
already spent the early years of his career, both in Illinois
and as a United States senator, fighting to institute ethics
reform to limit the clout of the powerful special interest
groups. He then touts his strong resolve to break this hold by
disallowing federal lobbyists and PACs from using their sway by
not accepting their contributions. He states that, from this
time on, he is imposing the same standards on the DNC. They
won’t accept any more sway-money from either the lobbyists in
Washington nor from the “special interest PACs.” They don’t
fund Obama’s campaign and he won’t allow them to fund the
Democratic Party either. When he becomes our next US President,
he promises to not allow these groups to “drown out the voices
of the American people,” and to implement a working health
insurance/care reform.
