Ryan’s Little-Hope, Pt.2 -- The Hope?
Previous…
So we’ve covered the wealthy who don’t have to sweat the
“small stuff”, the young & healthy men who statistically will
hardly ever need it and a portion of the average working
family earning $40,000 per year that can squeeze out the
additional $4,014 to cover the high deductible of the
catastrophic health insurance plan and the difference of the
premium cost above
the $5,000 allotted. What about the working moms? What about
those between 55 and 65 (millions of ‘em)? Forget about those
with pre-existing medical conditions. Traditionally, private
health insurance companies don’t want to touch those. What
about their health insurance/care?
We already have the world’s worst health care system for any
developed nation. Do we really want to settle for another band
aid on a wound that’s festering without any antibiotic? Shouldn’t we expect more from our rich, developed nation? If we
can spend trillions of dollars on a pre-emptive war, why can’t
we consider some of our greatest necessities back at home? I
believe Mr. Ryan would be remiss, if his plan doesn’t make
provisions for these most oppressed victims of our currently
failing health insurance/care system. He reasons that our
current health insurance /care system can’t sustain itself much
longer. Will his “Roadmap for the Future” end in a cul-de-sac
that is worse? I hope not. Perhaps he will soon address these
issues and find a better way for our nation. So, one hope might
be that Mr. McCain will be selective in choosing his running
mate. Someone with a vision to solve some of our most important
issues and not allow these important, less-outspoken classes of
our society to be marooned on a sea of more hopelessness.
