Understand the Big Picture, Please, Pt.2 – Say it easy,
with a smile.
Previous…
Focus: ‘Crisis’ is more important then casual. What Mr.
Biden needed to do was:
1) Stop! Take a deep breath (a power pause, in speech).
2) Flush being drawn into reaction-mode, right out of his mind.
3) Avoid technical ‘wonk’ at all cost.
4) Present an action.
The action must be a scintillating smile and a pretty fifth
grade picture. Two pictures, actually. One with a single happy
person on one side and 105 unhappy destitutes (large crowd) on
the other side. The other picture shows that happy person
joining the 105, who are now happy also. And then ask our
viewers which one they’d prefer to see seven years from now.
The figures (technical part) are:
- 1 million of the uninsured that will still have
health insurance with McCain.
- 33 million more of the uninsured that will still have
health insurance with Obama.
- 72 million under-insured (very important) who will gain
adequate health insurance with Obama.
Remember: The issue here is ‘crisis’, not taxes. Please
don’t be sucked in like that again, Mr. Biden. We could also
mention the 18.000 people like us who will die this year (even
as we speak) because they have no health insurance, but,
perhaps, that would be putting too much on fifth-graders to
deal with. Try to stay upbeat, or risk being ostracized by the
‘Post’. Always remember, the deciding few who will determine
our next four or eight years are the ‘swings’, otherwise known
as those who don’t delve deep into the real issues.
Fifth-grader pictures and a nice smile wins every time.
