Understand the Big Picture, Please, Pt.3 – Sticks and
stones vs. gurus.

Now for the technical evidence, for those who care enough to
really understand. The Commonwealth Fund organization is a New
York-based non-partisan health insurance/care think tank. They
consistently perform very thorough and exhaustive studies on
health insurance/care conditions and trends: Past; Present; and
Future projections. Their surveys and studies are so in-depth
that they can almost tell you what you had for dinner last
night. Or, at least, what you talked about. They have just
delivered the latest projections concerning health
insurance/care, independently based on their own data,
concerning what we should expect from each of the candidates’
proposals that are before us now.
Of course, there will always be critics, but it is
interesting to note that these findings happen to line up with
the findings of many other independent health insurance/care
study organizations. Those would be groups like: The
Tax
Policy Center; the Urban Institute; the
Brookings
Institution; the nonprofit, nonpartisan
New America
Foundation, a public policy institute; the
Kaiser Family
Foundation; nonprofit, non-partisan
Employee Benefit
Research Institute; Jonathan B. Oberlander, an
associate professor of social medicine and health policy at the
UNC at Chapel Hill; and the Journal of Health Affairs.
A lot of health insurance/care heavyweights here. For in-depth
info, please refer to the article series’ entitled: “Two
Divergent Visions; Which is best?”.
Health insurance/care wonks they may be, but these are the
same people who bring good things to life. They largely
dedicate their time for the wellbeing of others, for the good
of all. Now, there are those who quickly dismiss educated
peoples as being ‘hippie, pinko commies’ (liberals). But
remember, these same people were labeled by the ‘commies’ in
Cambodia during the ‘killing fields’ as ‘hippie, pinko
capitalists’. How can both be true? Perhaps this is because
extreme ‘ideologists’ on both sides (‘commies’ and
‘capitalists’) view evidence-based reasoning as a horrible
thing?
