McCain vs. Destitute, Pt.3 – One statement with 5
different meanings.

Vanessa begins
the article by noting the premise that health insurance
Mr. McCain’s tax credits would allow people more freedom to
shop around the open market. Without quantifying, this would
be regarded as true. When we quantify the meaning we realize
that five different statements are being masked into one:
1) Some
people would have more freedom to shop around the open market
(given).
2) Tax-wise,
the health insurance tax restructure could offer about a
38% benefit in taxes for the first year. After that, the
advantage dwindles until, after about five years, the advantage
it will reverse. Taxpayers will start incurring increasing tax
losses from that point on.
3)

laissez-faire capitalism hands the power over to ‘the market’
and it’s fiercely competitive ways.
4)

are denied health insurance, many of whom move closer to
an untimely death every year.
