Destitute vs. McCain, Pt.5 – The ‘meat and potatoes’;
forthright honesty.
Previous…
Does a nation have the responsibility to provide viable
access of health insurance/care to all of it’s citizenry, or
should it just be ‘every man for himself’? Is adequate
affordable health insurance a right, or merely a privilege?
‘Steve points out this very question. The need for him to
mention this is that, many voters aren’t aware that this is a
key issue of the health insurance/care crises. Our candidates
have not been forthright in pure debate about this. There has
been no showdown. ‘Steve’ is affiliated with an internet
medical advice organization called healthcaresoundoff.com. He
makes a summary in response to a victim of a "$45,000 hospital
bill for an appendectomy”. His explanation is “Greed abounds
everywhere and there is no reverence for the group needs.”
Now, presenting the opposing view point is signee 'Get a
Clue’. ‘…Clue’ seems to oppose the ‘reverence for the group
needs’ spirit that ‘Steve’ has spoken of. When ‘…Clue’
summarizes “Healthcare is not a right. It is a business”, he
seems to be reflecting the ‘every man for himself’ spirit. Not
sure how this gels with our soldiers who volunteer, fight and
die for ‘the group’ and not themselves. But, to his stead, at
least ‘…Clue’ expresses his belief forthright. Our Presidential
candidates should do the same. Whatever stance they announce,
should be the one they will account for. ‘…Clue’ offers the
pejorative exaggeration that ‘clueless’ Americans are expecting
totally free and unlimited healthcare and want him to pay for
it. There seems to be nowhere else to fund subsidies from,
since Bush’s near trillion-dollar deficit has drained our
economy.
