Medical Professionals Like Obama, Pt.3 – What our nation needs.

Mr. Obama’s health insurance/care has many tenets that directly address these ills:

• Guarantee both affordable and adequate health insurance for all Americans.  Without both of these conditions, the gesture is worthless.

• Disallow the denial of affordable and adequate health insurance to people with chronic or pre-existing health conditions.

• Keep what’s good now and not risk it to something new that has never been tested.

• Create new entities (preferably tested) to close the gaping holes that have sprung out from the extreme pressures of a devastated economy and burgeoning poverty.  (Include the success proven in both SCHIP and the Massachusetts model of providing special attention to the 250% of Federal Poverty Line ($42,000 annual family income).

• Provide portability as an option for those who get laid off or attempt to escape an oppressive workplace for something better.

These are the pillars that will support and sustain a healthy nation.

This information was derived from a blog column intended to give voice to Main Street USA concerning our health insurance/care crisis.  Blogging has evolved from the Troglodyte culture to advanced 21^st Century in a short time.  Acceptable norms are the rule and freedom of speech can now find respectable (sometimes highly-respectable) levels, never before possible.  Just like an Editor’s Response, we may not agree with anything but, we can hardly wait to hear the response.  So the following article treats the first few of these responses coming from Main Street.  We may or may not agree with them but, at least, they present us with a cross-sectional viewpoint about the health insurance/care crisis concerns on Main Street.
