67% to 18% Say Help Uninsured, Pt.5 – Many
adamant for universal health insurance.
Previous…
The second conclusion is the belief that health
insurance/care has moved up in importance of now being second
only to the economy for the American people. The third
conclusion is that Obama is the man they believe will do the
best job for all facets. It’s understood that many people don't
understand all the details. The proposals are known to be
confusing and it’s difficult to determine to what depth the
perceptions hold to the public. But, at least, the viewpoints
are clear.
Lastly, it was found that many Americans strongly favor
universal health insurance. Even with the expense and
complexity involved, many Americans are adamant about getting
this. This was a primary tenet with Hillary’s campaign and many
will not let go of that ambition. Therefore, some of the
respondents still hold reservations with both of the remaining
candidates. Neither Barrack nor John are promoting universal
health insurance at this time.
It’s worth noting, however, that Congress has been busily
piecing together a version of a health insurance plan that is
universal. For more in-depth information on this congressional
universal health insurance initiative called the “Healthy
Americans Act”, championed by Sen. Wyden, please refer to the
article series entitled: “Health Insurance & Capitol Hill”.
In addition, the health insurance industry has also
signified that they would fight any plan which mandated they
cover all people who want coverage, without there also being a
universal coverage mandate. In a shove, Obama’s plan would be
able to accommodate this modification and may even be a
requirement to get anything passed into law.
