Speaking Up On Health Insurance, Pt.1 – Americans must
speak up now.
So now, retirees are to work two jobs after retirement just
to pay for health insurance/care. It’s about time somebody
spoke up. It’s tough when you’re too young for Medicare and
must pay around $1,000 a month for health insurance.
Especially when it’s so inadequate that the deductible is
another $2,500. But, without working two part-time jobs, one
couldn’t even afford that. Health insurance that was always
considered a ‘given’ has now become a constant concern for too
many Americans.
It's at the point now where many Americans will consider
health insurance/care a top concern as they cast their ballots
in November. Something must definitely be done to help provide
health insurance. for all Americans.
Dave Coffman of Lee’s Summit is speaking up. He has been
working two part-time jobs since he retired, just trying to
afford long-term health insurance, dental and a health plan for
he and his wife.
While not advocating socialized medicine, he believes the
government must force health insurance/care providers to stay
within bounds of what Americans can afford to pay. As reported
in the New England Journal of Medicine, health insurance
premiums have climbed 35% in just the past four years.
Even senior-level state directors for AARP Missouri, like
John McDonald, director for the area of Missouri tries to
straighten out the confusion by explaining that it’s not a
problem of people with health insurance finding a good doctor
or a good medical facility. The problem is paying the bill,
afterward.
So what’s the big difference between the McCain health
insurance/care Plan and the Obama plan? Some say it’s just the
‘financing mechanism’ If that were true, there would be of no
consequential difference at all to us. We don’t care how it’s
delivered. What we care about is what it does for us. This is
the major difference on how people should cast their votes.
