Speaking Up From the Blog, Pt.2 – Healthcare is breaking
us; we have no fix, yet.
Previous…
If it were not so serious, it would almost be amusing. But
it is serious and the first blogger on the list was signed in
as ‘Dennis’ (Avg 4.20). This same story is the story of, probably,
millions of others. ‘Dennis’ has already spent $10,000 of his
life savings, just this year between health insurance premiums
and care. He laments how this terrible blight on our land,
called the ‘health insurance crisis’ is being by ignored by our
leaders, just like the credit crisis was a few months before
the crash. It had to be up in our face before we even
acknowledged it existed. Lifestyles got re-arranged by force,
not by prevention. What will it take to avoid the health
insurance crisis having to blow up like the lending industry
did?
This next blog is from both a medical provider and consumer,
signed in as ‘GRM’. He has worked with the military, the
Veteran’s Affairs Medical system and also in the private health
care sectors. He has studied both the Canadian and Northern
European health insurance/care systems. He finds flaws in each
of them. Although, he does not advocate a government-run health
insurance care system, he does see the need for government
oversight. Without such, he believes that, we will continue
with the terrible system-in-crisis that we have now.
In his practice, he’s seeing more and more patients without
health insurance/care. He cites too many rules, regulations and
restrictions that are non-governmental.
GRM’ believes that
Obama's health insurance/care plan clearly has flaws in it,
too. He says that Mr. O is seriously understating cost savings
potential and is overlooking the potential pitfalls.
