Hazy, Risky Health Plan, Pt.3 – The “Sting”, or; What in ‘Godzilla’ are we doing?

Previous…

Now that our population is rounded up and safely locked into the intended state-regulated corral, we can move on to the second tenet of Mr. McCain’s health insurance/care proposal. We are still describing the ‘deregulation spin’. The next move, under the ruses of ‘cheaper health insurance and more choices’ is the elimination of state-level regulation. This is achieved by allowing health insurance to be sold across state lines.

This strategy was already accomplished in the credit industry some years back. The result was that the credit industry escaped all the existing state-level consumer protections. They simply registered in the one state which had the most lax regulations and were allowed to exercise those lax (or non-existent) regulations in every other state. We can all see where that got us. Of course, the same result would follow with health insurance. For a clear understanding of this form of deregulation and what it means to health insurance, please refer to the article series entitled: “Paul Revere, but not Robin Hood”.

Concerning the ‘Robin Hood’ ruse of ‘cheaper health insurance and more choices’, the logic of Mr. McCain is correct. This will foster fierce competition in the ‘free market’ and the biggest gorilla will walk away with Fay Rae. We’ll probably end up with ‘WalMart-flavored’ health insurance. ‘Cheaper health insurance and more choices’.

The problem is the greater risk to the holders. We already face a crisis with the 25 million Americans who are cursed with inadequate health insurance.  What’s wrong with inadequate health insurance?

It’s been found that many of those in this condition are found to be in worse shape than those people who have no coverage. For a clear explanation of this, please refer to the article series’ entitled: “. Health Insurance Still Plummeting “, “Hidden Dangers of Inadequate Health Insurance” and “Major 'Underinsured' Sector”.
