The Real Problem of Covering the ‘Uninsured’, Pt.8 – A
more clear picture emerges.

Perot principle behavior may be significant here because is
it shown that this small percentage of people account for the
lion’s share of health care expense and are simply going
without expensive health care because of no health insurance.
Mr. McCain hasn’t given any ‘meaningful’ details on the fate of
these people. Even if Mr. McCain had provided us with 10 times
the amount of the scant details he has given us on his health
insurance/care, it still would not be enough to “model the
impact” these drastic changes will produce. Many factors could
not be ‘substance-based’ because the new parameters being
implemented have never before been tested by any nation in
history. There is no similar health insurance/care model
anywhere, scaled-down or otherwise.
Switching to the subject of Mr. Obama’s health
insurance/care plan, we diverge to a very different direction.
Here, at least, we have much greater detail. We also have a
reliable scaled-down model, moving into its third successful
year of maturity. Although not perfect, the testing ground of
the Massachusetts Commonwealth health insurance/care Model has
already overcome many of the sharpest criticisms of doom with
flying colors. Some challenges still remain, however.
Detractors and ‘barn-burners’ are quick to point these out, but
slow to mention that these challenges were anticipated from the
beginning but could not be properly addressed until initial
parameters had stabilized. Some of those parameters would
settle at a greater savings than was anticipated; while others
would settle at a greater expense. Sometimes effects that
looked bad were actually good. Sometimes, the converse was
true.
