Mr. McCain’s Definition of ‘Best Coverage’, Pt.1 – Health
insurance priorities.
Mr. McCain has been gracious enough to abandon some of his
vagueness concerning health insurance/care in an interview
with reporter Andy Post. Mr. Post has been good enough to
share much of it with a very concerned American public by
posting the story on www.mndaily.com/. To place the true
perspective, we might note that any serious problem that
befalls nearly 50 million Americans (almost 1 of every 5 of
us) is also a serious problem for our nation as a whole. One
person not having health insurance when facing ill health is a
serious problem. When almost 50 million Americans are left
without health insurance it should become a top priority.
Since it is directly the US President’s responsibility to
address top national problems in order of priority, we should
all be concerned with the relevance of each presidential
candidate.
Mr. Post takes a few ‘editorial’ liberties here by stating
that Mr. McCain’s health insurance/care policies are similar to
Mr. Obama’s. When Journalism 101 explains that ‘not all
readers’ judgments are your own’, they are suggesting that a
vast majority of the audience may strongly disagree with that
statement. They may feel that ‘implementing the ability for
‘all Americans to have adequate health insurance’ is in stark
opposition to a mere Band-Aid, which purports that it is not
the President’s direct responsibility to seriously attend to
45.7 million Americans who are destitute of health insurance.
Granted, there may be minor similarities in the plans, but this
difference is of paramount importance and is the key focus. Let
the reader decide.
