HealthCare Blueprint Borrowed From $700 Billion Bomb, Pt.4 – We must voice what we know.

Previous…

The benefits of Mr. Obama’s health insurance/care plan are far-reaching. Even into our troubled economy, which needs so much help right now. Some of the examples are:

1)     The millions in our nation’s labor force who have no health insurance, have too little health insurance, or live in fear of losing health insurance (these numbers are staggering) will be able to sleep at night, knowing their families and loved ones are protected. This provides a healthy state of mind and reduces sick and personal days off substantially.
2)     Moving towards a universal health system would be good for the economy. It would help set up initial mechanisms to control efficiency that don’t rely on the honor system (which simply doesn’t work). Effectiveness, not quantity need to merit and demerit health care conduct. This could never happen without regulation.
3)     To tame runaway medical spending, quality+efficiency+low cost combinations should merit favor over Washington favoritism.

4)     Workers would not be bound to a taskmaster at a lousy job for fear of losing health insurance, as is so common today. Free from this ‘ball-and-chain’, at least, our workforce will have freedom to move onto more meaningful positions at new companies. Innovation and a working spirit can come alive again, apart from drudgery. Our workforce can maximize their productive potential.
5)     American businesses would gain much more predictability about their employee health costs. Instead of holding off on hiring more workers, as most companies are doing now for fear of unexpected health insurance jumps, they can put more Americans to work.

In sum, we need to declare war on unbridled greed and runaway corporate glut. It can only lead to where we are now. We need to demand of our next President-to-be that we are much better protected with health insurance then we were with the lending markets.
