Health-Care Contrasts, Pt.2 – What is the true health care
crises about?
Previous…
The two leading health insurance/care reports have
independently concluded that Mr. McCain’s proposal will provide
almost no relief in our 45.7 million uninsured crises. The
‘leader’ here tells it all. This statement hasn’t been publicly
disputed by either party. So we don’t have to be concerned
about who’s right or wrong. The confusion seems to be deciding
what the health insurance/care crisis really is. Is it because
we already have ‘OK’ health insurance, but it could be better
and it costs a little too much?
Or is it because 45.7 have no health insurance; another 27
million have inadequate health insurance which puts many of
them in worse shape than those who have none and that 18,000 to
22,000 Americans are dying each year for lack of coverage?
Of the two, which one is the true crises? If we can only
understand that simple question and convey it to everyone we
know, the truth will no longer be debatable. Only the morality
of who cares. On that issue, the “‘Everybody’ thought
‘Somebody’ should do it…” scenarios are healthy coffee-table
discussions. In any case, it’s important to understand the
seriousness of our health insurance/care crises and what’s to
be done about it. For those who relegate the axiom ‘Failing to
plan is a plan to fail’ to business meetings, think where we’d
be without alarm clocks to start our daily lives. Even if it’s
just for an early-morning tee-time or getting the kids off to
school, we’ve all learned the pain of not planning.
