Democrats Discuss Health Insurance, Pt.1 – Obama’s clear health care direction.

Mr. Obama is beginning to promote the badly-needed focus on health insurance/care issues. His straight-forward message to our nation is: "If you have health [insurance]/care, my plan will lower your premiums. If you don't, you'll be able to get the same kind of [health insurance] coverage that members of Congress give themselves.”

He didn’t leave it there. He is also promoting the restoration of critical benefits that are falling by the wayside, since the Bush admin took over. Some of these benefits go beyond health insurance and address things like ‘sick days’ and ‘family leave days’ be given back to employees. He asserted that the deplorable condition our health insurance/care system is in, needs a radical restoration now. Those responsible for it’s neglect in allowing it, need to own up to it and reject the methods that allowed it to happen in the first place.

In other arenas, the health insurance/care reform movement is also gaining momentum. A forum took place in Denver on Wednesday with the theme of having a plan in place within the first 100 days of the next President’s tenure.

The forum was hosted by the Service Employees International Union and Families USA. Senator Hillary was there to bolster dedication of all involved when she stated: “Health care is not just an issue for me, but a passion ... (a) cause of my life." She further emphasized the need to position the health insurance/care topic to the beginning of the new administration’s agenda.

Senator Obama has already stated many times that, if he becomes President, health insurance/care reform will be a ‘top- agenda item’.
