Mr. McCain on Health Insurance/Care, Pt.1 – The ‘What do you offer’ no-brainer.

Why is it health insurance/care reform isn’t a no-brainer? Is the majority of our nation even in touch. If we don’t look at the issues, we have ourselves to blame. Whether we trust a politician or not, the issues purported need to be the measurement of trust and accountability. A very large percentage of voters tend to remain ignorant as to a politician’s agenda, even when it’s right before our eyes. This can be a very bad thing, when we’re so caught up in personal character that we don’t even hear what a person is saying. This case is even more serious when it comes life-threatening issues like health insurance/care. We must evaluate the ramifications of the agenda to see the expected result. Equal time should be spent on drawing the big health insurance/care picture for each candidate, individually.

The first focus should be ‘What is the health insurance/care vision of this party?’ This article series is intended to provide the big picture on health insurance/care reform, as supported by all the mundane details.

It is a great disservice to our nation to simply throw out a few details and expect the average American voter to meaningfully arrive at the same vision as highly educated health insurance/care specialists would. Yet that’s all that’s been happening so far.

Which is more helpful to a voter? “Cut fuel prices by a dollar.” or “So-an-so is waffling on off-shore drilling.”

Which is more helpful to a voter? “The 18,000 who die each year due to not getting health care, is not a concern of the government.” or “So-and-so will award small tax credits and leave the rest up to market forces.”

Can we separate vision from rhetoric in these? The real issue is the intended destination. Which is more helpful? Where are the priorities? These are the real issues. We need destinations, not street names along the way. Will a developed nation allow its people die because of no health insurance for the price of a small tax credit?
