Bush’s Report Card, Pt.1 – “Important document, please
read”
Mr. Bush’s report card was completed recently and is
now presented to us, complements of the US Census Bureau. The US
President’s report card should be more important than a
kindergartener’s. Who would respect a grade school that paid
no attention to grades? How about a nation that paid no
attention to grades? I hope it’s none of us. Let’s examine the
most important report card in our great nation. We do want to
keep it great, don’t we? Health insurance, health insurance,
health insurance. This needs to be high on the list.
Behind national security and along side of the economy,
health insurance requires special attention because it’s had a
failing grade for the whole term(s) (Presidential Terms, that
is). ‘Lame duck’ or not, we mustn’t keep quiet if ‘The Emperor
isn’t wearing any clothes’ just because he’s the Emperor. Not
in this country. The reason is of course is, if we do, we
accept the same behavior as a precedent for the next four
years. Our health insurance/care system has been left in
reckless abandon for so long now that it must be replaced. How bad
is that?
Why is this so important? There is much wisdom in the advice
“a democracy gets what it deserves”. If we get four more years
of the same, then who can we blame? Only by being vigilant on
health insurance/care matters is there any hope. In this day,
where ‘national domestic social responsibility’ has been
replaced with a dirty ‘newspeak’ word called ‘liberalism’, we
need to better-qualify what real truth is. At least 80% of our
population believe that our leader is accountable for the
wellbeing of his/her constituents (especially at the gas pumps
and when those constituents get sick).
