Bush’s Report Card, Pt.5 – Doomsday! The ‘7 years of
famine’.
Previous…
Point ‘2)’ This could easily explain how 7.2 million more
people have lost their health insurance and still have no
health insurance. Which brings us to our next subject… “816,000
more of our citizens have fallen into poverty”. 500,000 of
these were children! Because of President Bush, this brings the
total increase in Americans in poverty to 5.7 million. All this
should both shock us and, at the same time, not shock us. These
simple observations should have shocked us before the 2004
election but, after all these years we have little excuse to be
shocked now. It doesn’t take much thought to see the trend now.
We know it continues to worsen. Current Indices which have been
tracking declining wages over the first 7 months of this year,
indicate that the falling median for the previous 8 months of
this year has dropped another $700 per household annual income.
Again, this should be no surprise.
Point ‘3)’ is an extreme onto itself. How can a thinking
nation allow it’s plummeting economy to go 7 years without
raising a red flag and demanding attention on this issue? Oh,
that’s right. They did demand attention on the issue early on.
It was in all the headlines…on ‘September 10th’. But didn’t our
own loyal Whitehouse cabinet economic expert, Paul O’Neil,
promise us on September 12th that “We’re definitely not in a
recession now and neither are we heading into one!” Man, I’d
hate to see Mr. O’Neil’s report card. As horrific as the 9/11
disaster was, I wonder how much worse it would have been if no
one had health insurance. Didn’t make the headlines, but any of
the survivors would have considered health insurance a top
priority at the time. How could they know that, over the next
few years, tens of millions of Americans would lose their
health insurance?
